My cupboard doors are more than 1-1/4" thick. Will the screws be too short?
Yes, the screws will be too short. The knob needs to grip at least 1/4" of the screw to be secure. The maximum thickness of the door should be 1" to fit the screws we send with the knobs. Please let us know if you require longer screws.

What do I do if I am replacing my existing knobs and find the holes are too small to fit the new screws?
What to do:
You will need to re-drill the existing holes with a 13/64" or 5.5mm drill bit. This will perfectly fit the screws we supply with our knobs.
What not to do:
Do not try and force the new screws into the holes. If the holes are too small you may strip the screw head trying to force it through the hole.

What if re-drilling the holes is not an option?
Knobs are available, for an extra cost, with a threaded insert. This means the screw diameter will be smaller and will fit a smaller hole. Please contact us to order these knobs.

What size knobs should I order?
Most dressers will look great with our 2" Mushroom or Victorian knobs.
Be careful with knobs for your cupboard doors. If you're replacing existing knobs with ours, check to see which size knobs will fit best with the existing hole placement.
If the holes are too close to the edge of the cupboard doors, the larger 2" knobs may hangover the edges ('B' in diagram). If this is the case, the 1-1/4" knobs may suit your cupboards better ('A' in diagram).
The holes should be at least 1-1/2" from the edge of the door to fit the 2" knobs. This is also a good measurement for the 1-1/4" knobs.

How do I install knobs on new furniture without predrilled holes?
If there are no pre-existing holes already drilled, you will have to drill them yourself. Measure where you want the holes and mark them with a small 'x'. Drill the holes using a 13/64" or 5.5mm drill bit.

How do I measure my furniture for knob placement?
Take the time to do this properly.
Measuring Dresser Drawers
Decide where you want your knobs to go on your drawers.
Measure in from the outside edge, top edge and bottom edge of your drawer. Mark a small "x" in the middle of the top and bottom measurement for your drilling spot. (The measurements shown are just suggestions)
Repeat the measurements for each drawer. Double check your measurements to make sure they are all lined up properly.
Drill the holes using a 13/64" or 5.5mm drill bit. You will find it easier to drill when the drawers are taken out of the dresser and placed front side up, on the floor.
Attach the knobs with the screws provided using a Philips screwdriver.
Measuring Cupboard Doors
Please read the section on
"What size knobs should I order?"
Measure in from the cupboard edge and up from the bottom or top. Follow above instructions for drawers.
